Domburg is a city of art and culture. Its picturesque surroundings were already drawing in the artists in 1900! This was Domburg’s most important artistic period. Jan Toorop established himself here and thanks to his influence this area turned into an artist’s meeting point. As a result Piet Mondrian also came to the city and began painting his abstract works.
